Venue: Ränssin Kievarin Summer Theater
*After the Storm* is a moving and musical summer theater production that tells the story of Kari Tapio’s life and career—the highs, the lows, and the moments that shaped him into one of the biggest names in Finnish pop music. The story takes the audience through the turning points of his life, where adversity, love, and music go hand in hand.
Kari Tapio at different stages of his life is portrayed by the charismatic Turkka Mastomäki, known from TV series and films; the “King of Tango,” Jarno Kokko; and the young Eikka Eronen. The cast also includes Jennika Vikman, Ilkka “Ile” Vainio, Katja Lukin, and Jarkko Järvenpää, among others. Juse Venäläinen is responsible for the play’s script and direction.
The performance combines familiar songs, compelling storytelling, and relatable characters. The traditional setting of the Ränssin Kievarin Summer Theater creates an authentic and immersive summer theater atmosphere for the show. “After the Storm ” is an excellent choice for groups looking for an emotionally stirring, high-quality, music-filled summer theater experience as part of a combined cruise and theater trip. This Cruise + Theater package combines a cruise on Lake Päijänne from Jyväskylä, a carefully curated summer buffet, and a ticket to the performance of *After the Storm*.
The performance calendar includes several dates in June and July, and all shows are scheduled so that groups have plenty of time to attend the theater performance after their cruise. The distance from the Port of Jyväskylä is approximately 20 km.
